Can I join if I’m not a combatant?

Anyone interested in promoting theatrical combat throughout the Festival is welcome! Of course, you will be required to help support the Lodge’s mission, but there are many ways to do that without being directly in the fray.

Do I need to have a particular Role (Champion, Striker, Guardian, etc.) to join the Guild?

No, we accept all roles, so long as your passion to walk the Path of the Warrior runs through your veins.

What if I don’t have any fighting experience? Can I still join?

We would love to help you start your journey! We only require that you be excited to learn, willing to support the Guild’s endeavors, and supportive of and respectful of your fellow members.

Should I buy a ticket before being Approved by the Guild?

We would highly recommend talking to us and getting approval to join before purchasing tickets.  However, if you have already purchased one and decide to change your path before the game, please let us know at dfusfightersguild@gmail.com.

What are the expectations of a Core Guild Member?

Our expectations for Core Guild Members include:

  • Assisting with teaching in at least one class or setting up the Champion’s Tournament
  • Helping the Guild when able (e.g., putting up signs, advocating with the Avatars and other VIPs to attend tournaments, facilitating contracts)
  • Attending the opening “Call to Muster” Ceremony on Wednesday
  • Fighting with or supporting the Guild during the final battle
  • Taking a shift assisting with the booth
  • Upholding any Officially Signed Guild Documents

Different ranks of Core Guild Members may have additional responsibilities.

If I’m in a camp, can I still be involved with the Warrior’s Lodge?

Yes, you can! You can join the guild as an Apprentice, which allows you to take guild classes. You are also welcome to engage with us in roleplay, quests, and aiding in guild business. You may even rank up with the guild and become a Journeyman or a Master, with greater responsibilities as well as holding the respect and favour of the Warrior’s Lodge!  However, you must prove yourself.

What are the expectations of a Camp Guild Member?

Our expectations for Camp Guild Members include:

  • Assisting setting up the Champion’s Tournament,  and helping the Guild when able (e.g., putting up signs, advocating with the Avatars and other VIPs to attend tournaments, facilitating contracts, assisting new members)

Where can I camp if I join the Guild as a Core Guild Member?

Core Guild Members with decorum tents are granted the privilege of joining us in our space at the heart of the Bazaar.  If your tent is non-decorum, there is a nearby OOG camping area close to the Bazaar and the guild! We look forward to discussing your needs in greater detail during the application process.

What if I bought a Camp ticket, but I decided that I wanted to join the Fighter’s Guild instead?

Please contact us at dfusfightersguild@gmail.com and we will get it sorted!

Can I teach a Class?

Our instructors are vetted and expected to provide a high level of real-life knowledge and expertise in the areas they teach. While the classes we teach are generally what one would consider basic or entry-level, we expect our teachers to be exemplars of their craft in the real world, not just in the game. Because of this, some guild members are quickly accepted in the role of trainers (players who teach a class), while others may need to continue their training and growth before they can teach classes. Luckily, the Warrior’s Lodge is a great place for both those who are ready to lead classes and those who have more experience to gain to work together on and off the battlefield and the training arena, building up those skills and camaraderie.
